Teaching

I offer private one-on-one painting instruction in your home or studio space. This is hands-on, individualized teaching focused on developing observational skills, building technical confidence, and finding your own visual language through sustained practice. I work with students at all levels, from complete beginners learning to hold a brush to advanced painters developing glazing techniques or exploring hybrid approaches combining traditional painting with digital post-production.

What I teach:

- Foundational painting in acrylic and oil

- Observational work from still life, self-portraiture, and photographs

- Color mixing and application (my approach is intuitive rather than theoretical)

- Glazing and layering techniques

- Building psychological complexity through formal means: light, color, spatial relationships

- For advanced students: integrating AI-generated imagery with traditional painting techniques

How it works:

- Sessions take place in your home or studio space

- You provide your own materials (I'll give you a supply list)

- I can set up still life arrangements or we can work from photographs

- Teaching is tailored to your goals and skill level

- Focus is on building sustained practice, not quick results This is for students who want to develop a serious painting practice through regular, focused work. Whether you're starting from zero or expanding existing skills, the approach is the same: sustained observation, technical development, and learning to trust what you see rather than what you think you should see.
